PUBG Mobile 3.7 Update: New Map & Mode, and More for 7th Anniversary

New Map: Rondo

The star of the 3.7 update is the Rando map, an expansive 8km x 8km battleground that fuses traditional Chinese architecture with cutting-edge urban landscapes. This visually striking environment offers diverse settings for every playstyle, from stealthy ambushes to long-range firefights.

This new map will be different from others due to a number of unique features:

1. Dual Plane System

A groundbreaking addition, Rando introduces two planes that fly to different parts of the map. Before departing Spawn Island, players must choose between the eastern-bound or western-bound plane. This feature allows teams to split the map strategically, enhancing tactical planning.

2. Unique Locations

• Jadena City – A sprawling urban area with towering buildings and tight corners for close-quarter battles.
• The Stadium – A large open arena perfect for intense firefights.
• Bamboo Forests & Scenic Lakes – Natural landscapes that provide cover and tactical advantages.

Rondo also features dynamic weather conditions, shifting between bright sunny environments and stunning sunset visuals, adding a layer of realism to the gameplay.

3. Terrain Destruction

• Rondo has a unique terrain destruction mechanic.
• When there isn't enough cover around you, you can conceal yourself by destroying the terrain.
• Concrete, cement, and stone cannot be destroyed.
• Terrain can be destroyed with pickaxes, grenades, or vehicle explosions.
• Maximum destruction depth is 1.3 meters.

4. EMP Zone:

•  You cannot aim down sights in the EMP Zone. Even scopes picked up in the zone are subject to this effect.
• Vehicles with engines cannot be used.
• Markets, Recall Towers, and Signal Jammer Backpacks also cannot be used, and most electrical devices will be unusable.
• During a match, there will be a notification informing you that the EMP Zone is active, and its location will be displayed on the map.
• The EMP Zone does not deal any physical damage to players, scenery objects, buildings, etc.

5. Premium Stores:

• (located at fixed locations and guarded) and Basic Stores (located anywhere) will spawn on the map where you can purchase supplies, open blind boxes for discounted items, and purchase vehicles.

6. Rondo Guards:

• Premium Stores are surrounded by guards. You cannot access a Premium Store without getting into a dangerous skirmish.

7. Safes:

• Safes containing Gold Bars will spawn randomly on the map. Gold Bars can be exchanged at Stores for Supply Tokens.

8. New Weapons：

• JS9

Weapon Type: Submachine gun (SMG)

Ammo: 9mm ammo

Damage: 32

There are a few new weapons updates in the 3.7 version. First, the JS9 Weapon is a submachine gun that is specially designed for Rando. It will be crucial in the early phases of conflicts in urban and suburban regions due to its small size. This firearm features stable recoil, delivers solid damage, and is renowned for its balance of speed and power.

• Stun Gun

The Stun Gun, a brand-new non-lethal weapon, is also being unveiled. This RONDO-only weapon uses high-voltage electric shocks to temporarily paralyze adversaries. The gameplay will be greatly impacted by this stun cannon, especially in the cramped spaces of structures.

• Pickaxe

9. Pico Bus & Coupe SUV (Blanc)

The new Rondo map introduces exciting new vehicles, including Pico Bus and Coupe SUV, dream rides for many people, can't wait to get behind the wheel!

Pico Bus:

The 6-seat Pico Bus, a battery-powered vehicle with strong acceleration, consumes significant battery at high speeds. Its Kinetic Energy Recovery system recovers energy during braking/deceleration, enhancing endurance via stored power.

Coupe SUV:

The Coupe SUV offers a built-in storage compartment, similar to other SUVs like the Blanc, enhancing its practicality for in-game item management.

10. New Items

• Emergency Cover Flare:

This item, which can be looted or bought, releases red smoke to deploy two cover objects that destroy fences and harm players, though it may not work well indoors.

•  Forest Ghillie Suit:

There is a chance to obtain a Forest Ghillie Suit from supply crates in Rondo. Equip it to blend seamlessly into Rondo's natural landscape!

• Battle Ready Kit:

A new, rare consumable available in Rondo. Weight: 20. Use it to restore 100% Health and Energy after 8 seconds.

• Signal Jammer Backpack:

A new Backpack that has the same capacity as a Lv. 2 Backpack and can also withstand 100 Blue Zone damage. When its durability is depleted, it will no longer be able to withstand Blue Zone damage.

 

New Themed Mode: Golden Dynasty

Golden Dynasty mode immerses players in a time-themed realm of golden sand, where floating islands hide treasures and dynamic battlegrounds deliver fresh tactical challenges.

Supported Maps: Erangel, Livik, and Rondo (Ranked and Unranked)

The following characteristics set the Gold Dynasty Mode apart from other modes:

 

1. New Map Areas

Gilded Palace:

• Islands Above & Below: Two floating islands hover above and below, forming an hourglass shape. Players can choose which island to land on.
• Strongest Team: The hourglass in the main hall of the palace leads to a valuable, one-of-a-kind crate which can be opened once a certain amount of time has passed. The team that manages to do so becomes the Strongest Team.
• Temporal Rewind: Harness temporal powers within a specific area to witness the changes brought by the reversal of time, and seize the opportunity to uncover new treasures.
• Armor Repair: The inside of the palace has armor repair devices. Use them to instantly restore armor and helmet durability. If none are equipped, a set of Lv. 2 armor and helmet will be issued.

Eminence Courtyard:

• Strongest Team: A statue of the strongest team in the current area will be displayed in the outer courtyard.
• The inner courtyard building area layout has 2 levels, connected by a corridor.
• Secret Room: There is a room on the lower level that houses a treasure vault behind a locked door. To unlock it, players must interact with murals on the upper level and find the key hidden behind the correct one.

Reminisce Zones:

• Terrain, buildings, vegetation, and drops will all be restored. Special weather will be implemented in these areas to fully recreate the original experience.
• Players can take photos at special photo spots.
• Interact with the picnic blanket in these areas for a recovery effect.

Reversal Fragments:

• Interact with the Reversal Fragments found in Reminisce Zones for loads of supplies. You may trigger a desert trap and be launched into the sky.
• A certain period of time after the match starts, special Reversal Fragments will appear in the Reminisce Zones. Interact with them to get the Golden Scepter and Advanced Reversal Blade.

 

2. New Themed Items

Reversal Blade:

• Rewind Time: The Reversal Blade's core ability is to rewind time. Use the skill to place a mark on the ground. Use the skill again within a certain duration to transform into a temporal orb and trace back all the steps you've taken until you return to the previously placed mark. After transforming back, your Health and Energy will be restored to their states at the time the mark was placed.
• Reopening Crates: Use the Reversal Blade's rewind ability to reopen previously opened crates for new supplies.
• Vehicle Restoration: Focus on a vehicle and use the rewind ability to restore its Health and fuel and repair its damaged tires.
• Advanced Reversal Blade: This blade has a special rewind ability that can be used one time and is triggered automatically if you get knocked down during the skill's duration. Time will rewind and you will be brought back to the marked location.

Reversal Blade Forging:

• Regular Reversal Blades can be found on the map along with upgrade materials. Collect the required upgrade materials and use a Forging Station to upgrade the Reversal Blade into an Advanced Reversal Blade.
• speed, and cooldown times.
• While forging, the remaining time will be visible, so be sure to stay alert for approaching enemies.

Golden Scepter:

• Use it to summon a zone where all players can replenish their Health.
• Any player knocked down in this zone gets 1 self-rescue chance.

 

3. New Gameplay Mechanics

• Strongest Team Podium:

The first team to open the final crate in the Gilded Palace becomes the Strongest Team and gets to recall teammates who aren't in the area or still have remaining respawn chances. A statue of the team will also be displayed at the podium.

• Past Reflection Station:

Interact with the checkpoint to summon a past version of yourself that you can take photos with and gives you supplies.

• Golden Sands Platform:

A podium buried by sand. Activate it to get supplies and take a photo with your teammates.

• Desert Awakening:

Complete story missions in the themed area to uncover the secrets of the Golden Dynasty.

 

4. New Themed Vehicle

Two-Seater Animal Vehicle: Camel

Riding in this vehicle allows you to use the skill: Camel Mirage allows the camel and its riders to enter a spirit form, temporarily boosting mobility and reducing damage taken. Additionally, the camel can pinpoint nearby supplies, offering strategic advantages in resource gathering.

 

Classic Mode Updates

1. Supply Shop Update:

Added the Laser Sight.

2. New Advancing Emote:

A new type of emote. You can move freely while the emote is playing and others can follow along.

3. New Weapon: Explosive Bow:

• A new bow weapon.
• Draw the bow to charge up and release to deal explosive damage in a small area.

4. Experience Improvements

• Throwables and traps will no longer deal damage to allies or interrupt evacuation when there are no enemies nearby.
• Now, only one player can interact with a supply crate at a time.
• The player who opens a crate also gets priority pick of its content for a certain duration.

 

Ancient Mode Return: Civilization of the Egypt

The 3.7 update brings back the Ancient Mode, taking players back to the civilization of ancient Egypt.

The following characteristics set the Ancient Mode apart from other modes:

1. Ancient Temples

The maps of Erangel and Miramar are updated to include ancient temples for the first time. Players can find hidden riches in these temples to receive exclusive awards, which adds excitement to the exploration process.

2. Slate Puzzle

Within the temples, players must solve puzzles. This creates a more difficult and captivating experience by improving your gaming abilities and techniques in addition to enhancing the gameplay.

3. Antiquated Weapons and Skins

Ancient Skins and themed objects will be given to players as rewards. Your in-game gear and appearance stand out thanks to these exclusive accessories, which give your gaming experience a distinctive touch.
